Session(s) of the Month - June 2023

Happy Independence Day!

You’re probably wondering what’s up with this whole plural-ness on the title. Isn’t it supposed to be session of the month, not sessions of the month? Well these two sessions not only had a bit of a crossover, but they were only 48 hours apart AND the two mamas are sisters.

Those grandparents sure have an adorable crew of grandkids!

My story with the Susor family has been a long one. They are the epitome of one of my favorite things: watching families grow. My first session with them was for the maternity session of their oldest. I did her newborn photos and then those of her little brother exactly two years later.

This sweet family decided to add a third to the bunch… the fourth? Well she was just a pleasant surprise :)

I still remember the moment clearly when I found out they were expecting twins. They had come to my house for Christmas mini sessions that year (back when my studio was still at my house). They were coming in carrying a bunch of stuff so I only caught a small glimpse of the sign they were also carrying. I saw something on it referring to them expecting but didn’t get a full look at it. I immediately congratulated them.

Imagine my surprise when we started taking photos and it talked about baby #3 AND #4 arriving that following June. I definitely let out a squeal of delight (and surprise).

As I continued to watch this family grow, I also was introduced to the sister of this gorgeous mama. She was expecting their youngest when we met and I got to do some beautiful maternity shots for them. Once Miss Ayla showed up, I got to document her first year as well!

Now that the kiddos are getting bigger, our sessions are only annual… but it bodes well that all five of the littles have birthdays within a few weeks of one another! That weekend I got to document turning 7, turning 5, turning 3, and turning 2! And since everyone was in the same zip code, we also were able to update the full grandkid photo.
