Mr. and Mrs. Coushman - 9.21.24
They always say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. With that prophesy, Danielle and Kyle are most definitely set for the rest of their lives.
Like many couples in our technology-filled world, these two met online! Kyle found it easy to fall in love with the woman who he says has the “ability to see the best in people and in situations”. He knew she was the one just a few months in because she was able to put up with him and his “quirks”.
For Danielle, she loves his sense of humor and how much he brings her up when she is feeling down. She particularly appreciates how often he tells her how beautiful she is. I can confidently say I saw all of this on Saturday… the way he looked at her was like she was the only woman in the world. He also got extremely goofy and lifted her mood when the rain was inching past the point of only being annoying.
The day before the wedding, the forecast called for upper 70s and sunny skies. Imagine my surprise as I was driving to the beautiful Mystic Ponds venue and saw dark clouds in the distance. That’s right… that beautiful forecast was now scattered storms ALL. DAY. LONG.
My second shooter adorably kept asking me how I was so cool and collected and I reminded her that I can’t control the weather and if I let myself start worrying about it, I’ll be in a not-so-good mood.
Between the spurts of rain we were able to get some beautiful detail shots as well as some shots of Kyle with his guys and Danielle with her girls. While our bride and groom opted not to do a first look, Danielle did one with her dad. Let’s just say, there were definitely some tears of joy in that moment. Can we also swoon at her PHENOMENAL dress?!
This laid back couple was prepared to push the (outdoor) ceremony back if need be, but things were looking clear at 3:00, so we got the ceremony rolling! Just our luck, literally as Danielle was walking down the aisle, it started raining. Bless this couple and all these guests… not a single person left the ceremony. Many busted out their umbrellas, others just stood in the rain. In the 13 years I’ve been doing weddings, I have never had a ceremony happen in the rain. Danielle and Kyle got absolutely soaked as they said their vows, but in my expert opinion, it made the moment even more beautiful because it symbolized them being able to make it through anything.
Thankfully we got a small break to get some bridal party and couple photos. Dinner was the most DELICIOUS barbecue and mac n cheese. Seriously… I want more of that stuff! The evening continued on with some delicious cake and some fun dancing. The best man even managed to get our 49ers fan of a groom to wear a PACKER hat!
Many thanks to Danielle and Kyle for having us be a part of this amazing day. Wishing our newlyweds many decades of happiness!
