Today is my birthday! I cannot think of a better gift to myself than to FINALLY launch the new website I’ve been dreaming of for months and working on for what feels like forever.
If I had to pick one word to describe what 2022 brought to my business, I would have to say that word is “value”. When I use that word… value… I don’t entirely mean it as the value of my work has increased. Of course, each year that I continue my business and learn new things, value is added to the experience of working with me. But this year was the year where I finally started to truly acknowledge the value of my time, my experience, my skills… of my business as a whole.
My mindset shift was a tough one. I often deal with a little bit of imposter syndrome which makes it easy to belittle the value that I (and subsequently my photographs) bring to my clients. BUT, on the flip side, this mindset shift has also encouraged me to live up to that bar that I know that I am worth. I don’t want to be a “shoot and burn” type of photographer who takes and delivers as many photos as possible as quickly as possible. This results in rushed editing and subpar image quality. I want to focus on taking the time to create timeless and beautiful images that make my clients feel the emotions of the photograph.
Thank you to ALL of my clients, particularly those who have stuck around over the years. The greatest compliments I can receive are that of repeat clients as well as client recommendations.
